This Sunday we will upgrade R to version 3.5 ( current version is 3.4.4). We are not expecting any issues with the upgrade but as we are upgrading the R application and a rebuild of the CRAN and other package (aka library) repositories we wanted to inform the community. The upgrade will take 30 minutes.
While most upgrades do not affect running jobs, there is a possibility it might for some users. If you build or install your own R packages they will likely need to be re-installed after the upgrade. This is because R library add-ons are dependent on a particular release. In other words, libraries built for version 3.4 will not always work in 3.5.
